Business Economics and Management – Master degree

The teachings of the two-year Master degree transmit advanced knowledge on the subject of governance of companies and management of their processes and their functions. Acquisition of the ability to accurately identify and define the problems and solutions, with the understanding that management is a technical discipline that is applied in social contexts. Active methodologies are used that make the student not only a participant in a teaching process, but the protagonist of the learning process. This allows for the immediate undertaking of fundamental specialised roles for the management of companies and individual professions.

1 – Economics and management of companies

Forms individuals with a profound knowledge of the business economics environment, to be used in addressing business issues according to an integrated and comprehensive vision. It develops an attitude oriented to change and innovation, and extended skills in the various industrial and service sectors, public and private.

Professional profiles:

Positions within various company functions of medium and large businesses, in roles that require design skills, ability to work in groups, cross-functional vision and international openness. Moreover, in small or medium-sized enterprises, the possibility of operating as immediate collaborators with the heads of departments or sectors or in business consulting in the role of a junior consultant, business analyst, etc..

2 – Business Administration and free professions

Forms individuals who have knowledge in an economic and corporate environment, in particular with regard to administrative-accounting, legislation and finance, who are able to use this knowledge to address business complexities in the role of consultants and business operators. Develops analytical skills through the study of theoretical models and the use of professional techniques.

Professional profiles:

PPosition of a chartered accountant (after passing the State exam), the activity of revision and auditing, and consulting in business administration areas. In addition, the possibility of business careers in administration, accounting, planning, and control.

3 – Banks, markets and corporate finance

To operate in the ordinary and extraordinary financial management business environment as well as directly in financial markets, the pathway focuses on a multi-disciplinary approach that integrates legal, company, economics, mathematics and statistics concepts. It aims to form individuals who have a thorough understanding of the management of financial intermediaries, knowledge of financial market structures, and who are able to manage portfolios of securities and have the financial skills needed to grasp market trends.

Professional profiles:

Positions involved in the financial and managerial functions of companies, banks and insurance companies; specialist positions in analysis and financial management; Operator positions in the financial markets; individual professions in financial and administrative areas; strategic management and financial consulting; positions of authority in economic and financial sectors (Consob, Bank of Italy, Antitrust).

4 – Marketing

To address strategic and operative issues of marketing and sales, developing the ability to analyse and solve problems using methodological instrumentation supported by a strong quantitative basis. The application of analytical skills, strategic and operational diagnoses, is expanded to the different industrial sectors and public and private services.

Professional profiles:

Positions in marketing, distribution, sale of industrial and commercial enterprises and non-profit institutions, companies engaged in marketing research, communication, international intermediation and professional advising in the commercial field. Management of foreign markets (global marketing manager, area manager, export manager).

5 – Management of human resources

A unique pathway for content and learning methodology. Some teachings, workshops, international “guru” and top manager testimonials will be in English.
Developed in partnership with prestigious companies and international consulting firms, it aims to build a strong relationship between university education and the labour market. In addition, it offers the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in the areas of leadership, management, management of change processes, company organisation, training, selection, industrial relations systems of evaluation and remuneration policies, and to understand the logical connection between these areas and the other company functions. The pathway is characterised by a strong integration between classroom days, international presentations, and workshops within companies.

Professional profiles:

Positions in the direction of human resources, in the areas of selection, assessment, training and development, the prevention of work-related risk in companies, consultancies, industry associations, training providers, recruitment companies and head-hunting and employment agencies.

6 – International business management

(in English)

Forms individuals with in-depth economic and business knowledge; mathematical-statistical and legal, developing an attitude to internationalization strategies of business. The application of analytical skills, strategic and operational diagnoses is extended to various industrial and service sectors. To undertake the pathway the student must have taken the TOEFL iBT exam with a minimum score 85/120.

Professional profiles:

Positions of management in the international arena, as the pathway provides principles and techniques needed to operate in markets for goods and services, and services in which finance has now become global.

7 – Entrepreneurship & Innovation

(in lingua inglese)

This curriculum, totally taught in English, and unique in the Italian and international context in terms of topics, highly qualified international faculty, innovative structure and learning model, aims at training students on robust managerial and entrepreneurial competences. Thanks to direct hands-on experiences in firms and frequent interactions with business people, this curriculum prepares students in dealing with spotting and exploiting entrepreneurial opportunities both in start-ups and in established profit and not-for-profit organizations. This academic program offers the possibility to learn about innovation strategy and management, strategic entrepreneurship, business model design and re-design, rejuvenation of mature businesses, in small- and medium-sized family firms as well as in multinational corporations and strategic consulting firms and agencies. For being admitted to this curriculum students need TOEFL IBT exam with score 85/120 or to have completed an academic year held in English.

Professional opportunities

This curriculum prepares students for an entrepreneurial career, either in start-ups or in family firms, in franchising or licensing networks, through mergers and acquisitions or organic growth and rejuvenation of mature businesses. Likewise, we prepare students for a international managerial career in global corporations very much concerned with corporate entrepreneurship and innovation programs, as well as for leading strategic consulting firms.
