Research for businesses and the territory makes reference to all activities through which the knowledge generated at LIUC is made available to the world outside of the University.
This set of activities, that includes both technological transfer and engagement of the public, is commonly indicated by the term “third mission”.
With regard to the nature and the origins of LIUC, the third mission activities have always been positioned alongside, and not subordinate, to the more traditional research and didactic ones.
Research for businesses and the territory is realised through research centres, laboratories and observatories, and other research facilities.
