The aim of LIUC, in addition to the purely academic, is to be able to offer services that may integrate the education of the student, combining it with initiatives that go beyond the didactic one.
In this perspective there was born, in the year 2002, the theatre workshop those established activities, inserted in the broader field of extra didactic activities.
Several attempts to set up a theatre workshop had been made previously around 2000, but all of them came to nothing because the teaching was probably too technical in its aspect.
With the arrival of Elena Fontana, now the head manager of the workshop, this activity has established itself positively, managing to combine the professionalism of Elena with the availability of the participants in a mix of “busy enjoyment”
The fruits of this work were seen immediately, because, after the first year the laboratory presented “Christmas Dinner” theatre piece inspired by the comedy “Thirteen at the table” by M.G. Sauvignon at the Campus of the University, receiving unanimous praise.
With strong general appreciation, after the staging of “Ten Little Indians” by A. Christie, again at the Campus, the workshop then moved to the nearby Dante theatre in Castellanza to present “Arsenic and Old Lace” by A. Christie and, the following year, “Bullets over Broadway” by W. Allen, collecting one success after another.
The road, full of satisfaction, was the right one. The hope is that we can, over the years to come, continue on the path taken and be able to provide continuity and constant change to one of the activities among the most interesting and formative part of extra didactic activities.
