For the first time, industrial museums and industrial heritage sites across Europe are joining forces for a digital treasure hunt: Industrial Quest, an innovative event by the European Route of Industrial Heritage (ERIH).
On 12 and 13 September 2026, 46 prestigious locations across 15 countries participate in this groundbreaking initiative. LIUC University – Castellanza is among them (from 12 September h.9 am to 13 September h.6 pm).
This is a unique opportunity for our region: children, teenagers, friends and families will explore our site’s industrial heritage through specially designed challenges that combine knowledge and creativity. Participants discover the secrets behind historic machines and playfully explore how industrialisation shaped our world.
To participate, teams simply scan a QR code at the entrance of our Library or in front of our Career Service office, answer questions on-site, and upload a team photo. Teams compete on LIUC University’s leaderboard while being part of a larger European movement while connecting our local community with 45 other sites across the continent all sharing the same mission to make industrial heritage come alive.
Industrial Quest combines two trends ERIH actively promotes: digitalisation of cultural institutions and gaming as an authentic medium for Gen Z. By hosting this pilot project, at LIUC University – Castellanza demonstrates how industrial heritage can be conveyed in contemporary and accessible ways, positioning our region as a leader in cultural innovation. The project is funded by the EU Creative Europe programme.
