Business Economics

Course in English

The Business Economics course is taught in English throughout all three years. To undertake this course, the student must have passed the TOEFL IBT examination with a score of 80/120 (or equivalent examinations indicated in the Student Guide) or have completed a full academic or school year in English.

The content is designed to ensure a robust theoretical and operational knowledge of business processes and functions alongside a solid grounding in the dynamics of the business environment.

During the course, the student will spend two semesters abroad at a partner university. In the third year, the curriculum must be supplemented with the Global Market or Family Business Management courses.

Goals

Students enrich their knowledge of business processes and functions with the ability to apply the relevant skills in an international context. The use of English and the opportunity to study abroad enable students to understand cultural differences and be prepared to act in multicultural contexts.

The strong international content of the third-year courses completes the competencies and skills necessary to operate in a highly globalised world. Students achieving the best performance in a ranking at the end of their first year are offered the opportunity to spend a year abroad at the IESEG School of Management (Université Catholique de Lille) for a double degree project.

The year abroad is the third year of university and follows a pre-established curriculum at the French university. All the required examinations must be passed and the final thesis must be written and submitted. On returning to Italy, the examinations passed abroad will be recognised and the students will have to discuss their thesis in order to also obtain the LIUC degree.

Teaching

The language of instruction is English. The international character of the course is complemented from the first year by the multinational composition of the class with the participation of foreign exchange students.

The small class size allows a closer relationship with the teacher and a better learning process. Teaching is interactive, with team work for case studies and class presentations.

Professional Profiles

Graduates of this course come to the employment market with a well-rounded international education and are well-prepared to apply for employment opportunities outside national borders.

The general preparation also provides access to the classic employment options of a business administration graduate (entrepreneur, manager in the manufacturing and service sector, consultant, etc.).
