On request the Research Ethics Committee expresses opinions and evaluations regarding qualitative and quantitative aspects of projects and their design, as well as how they intend to generate evidence destined for publication.
The Research Ethics Committee will also assess whether there may be any conflict of interest which could possibly vitiate the research activity.
The opinions and evaluations are provided to the research supervisors, the institutes directly involved and the governing bodies of Università Carlo Cattaneo – LIUC to ensure that research activities are carried out in accordance with ethical principles defined by national and international norms and the current Ethical and Disciplinary Code of Università Carlo Cattaneo – LIUC.
The Research Ethics Committee is thus responsible for:
- providing an ethical analysis of the research proposals and protocols submitted;
- expressing opinions, where necessary, to meet requests from outside institutions or internal needs of the university;
- expressing opinions, where necessary, in order to ensure that the results of the research will have adequate access to scientific journals.
Mode of Operation
The Research Ethics Committee holds monthly meetings according to the calendar published on this website.
Requests for opinion must be submitted by the research supervisors, the individual researchers or students, as well as by outside bodies by email only to the Research Office (using the e-mail [email protected]) by filling out the request form, available both in Italian and English. All requests received at least 15 days in advance of an upcoming meeting will normally be considered and added to the agenda of the meeting.
The opinion expressed by the Research Ethics Committee is communicated to the applicant by the Secretary no later than 15 days after the date of the decision.
