IDEM service (IDEntity Management for federated access)

Entry to LIUC
IDEM service (IDEntity Management for federated access)

LIUC uses the IDEM service (IDEntity Management for Federated Access), the GARR network’s authentication authorisation infrastructure.

IDEM is the first Italian Federation of Authentication and Authorisation Infrastructures (AAI) and is intended to enable users in the Italian scientific and academic community to more easily access networked services and content provided by various organisations.

Membership of IDEM offers LIUC users the advantage of using institutional credentials to access all the resources available through the Federation.

Within the IDEM Federation, GARR acts as a coordinator by providing the central infrastructure and services and by signing the Membership Agreements.

List of available services

For any problems with credentials and authentication: [email protected]

The services accessible through the Federation are made available by the IDEM members and partners. With each request for access, the system will give the provider of the specific service the following information:

  • user’s first and last name;
  • email address;
  • anonymous, continuing, non-assignable user identifier (a string automatically generated by the system that contains no user information);
  • information on the user’s affiliation with their home organisation (consists of a macro-profile of the user, e.g., Student, Member, Staff, Affiliate, Alumnus…).

to enable the service provider to identify the correct authorisation profile.
