Biographical Notes
RODOLFO HELG is Professor of Economics at Università Cattaneo-LIUC where from 2012 to 2021 he has been Director of the School of Economics and Management. He is Senior Associate Research Fellow at ISPI and is in the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Comparative Economics.
He has been consultant for the EU Commission, for the OECD, for the European Investment Bank and for the Italian Office of the Prime Minister. His area of research is in applied international economics.
He has published articles in peer-reviewed journals on the determinants of comparative advantages, on the dynamics of countries trade patterns, on less developed countries terms of trade, on euro and optimal currency areas, on exchange rate dynamics, on the labour market implications of globalization, on the quantification of the economic effects of liberalization scenarios in the WTO Doha Round, on the economic effects of trade liberalization between EU and Mediterranean countries, on the EU-US trade potential in the context of TTIP, on global value chains in Asia.
In the last few years he has taught courses in International Economics at IESEG School of Management Lille/Paris, at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, at USI and at University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, Lugano, at ISPI, at Shenzhen International Business School, Shenzhen, at Bocconi University, at Johns Hopkins University–SAIS Bologna and at S.P. Jain Institute Management & Research, Mumbai.
