Biographical Notes
Chiara Gigliarano is Full Professor in Economic Statistics at LIUC University since September 2022 and Teaching Fellow of Statistics at Bocconi University (Milan, Italy) since 2008. Previous positions: between 2017 and 2022 she was Associate Professor at Insubria University (Varese, Italy); between 2010 and 2016 she was Assistant Professor and between 2007 and 2010 Post-doc researcher at Marche Polytechnic University (Ancona, Italy) She obtained a Ph.D. in Statistics at Bocconi University in 2007 with a dissertation on multidimensional polarization measurement.
Scientific Areas of Interest
Research interests are in the fields of income distribution analysis, measurement of inequality, polarization and vulnerability, multidimensional well-being and poverty, territorial analysis, and survival analysis.
Academic CV
She has participated, also in the role of principal investigator, in several national and European projects related to the measurement of income distribution and of well-being, as well as to tax-benefit micro-simulation model.
She has been visiting fellow at Luxembourg University in 2015, at Cologne University in 2014 and at Essex University in 2014.
She has published in several international journals including Computational Statistics and Data Analysis, Journal of Economic Surveys, Journal of Economic Inequality, Lifetime Data Analysis, The STATA Journal, Review of Income and Wealth, World Development, Ecological Indicators, Social Indicators Research, Fuzzy Sets and Systems.
