Biographical Notes
Born in Piacenza (Italy) in 1963. Married for 30 years and father of two young adults, he lives in Milan. After having completed the Commercial ands Accounting School G.D. Romagnosi in Piacenza, he obtained a B.Sc. in Economics (1987) from the Bocconi University in Milan, majoring in Financial and Monetary Economics. He then moved to the United States, where he earned a M.Sc. (1990) and a Ph.D (1993) in Economics at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA. There, he began his academic career, being responsible for teaching both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
He returned to Italy, joining Università Bocconi as assistant and then tenured associate professor (1994-2000). He then moved to Università Cattaneo – LIUC, at Castellanza as a full professor (2000 - current).
At Università Cattaneo LIUC he served as Faculty Dean from 2005 until 2011 and as Rector from 2011 to 2015. At Università Bocconi, he served as Coordinator of the Ph.D. in Business Administration and Management (1995-2000). Since 1993 he has also been in the faculty of the SDA Bocconi School of Management (currently affiliate professor) where he served as Director of the Full Time MBA Program (2004-2011). In the professional field, he has been a member of the board of directors in banks (ECB supervised significant institution), multiple asset management companies with different focus (securities investments, real estate and hedge funds), in a rating company, as well as in a real estate company .
