He was born on September 24, 1975, in Parma and spent his first 18 years in Pontremoli in Lunigiana. After completing high school, he moved to Milan to pursue a bachelor's degree in Management Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan. He graduated in October 2000 under the supervision of Professor Andrea Sianesi, with whom he began collaborating both at the Polytechnic and at LIUC. From 2001 to 2004, he attended the doctoral program in Management Engineering at the Polytechnic, spending a study period abroad in Boston (Northeastern University and MIT).

Scientific Areas of Interest

My scientific interests now revolve around the new industrial paradigm of "Industry 4.0" and how it can enable operational excellence within factories and, more broadly, within logistic and production systems. The Industry 4.0 technologies on which I conduct research, both in academia and to support businesses, primarily include simulation and data analytics. These are two extremely powerful decision-support tools that, in my opinion, all companies should already be using today to pursue operational excellence.

Academic CV

He joined as a Researcher (SSD ING-IND/17) at the School of Industrial Engineering at LIUC in 2002. Since that year, he has been teaching courses in the field of operations, initially as an assistant and later as a lecturer, within the bachelor's degree programs in Management Engineering at both LIUC and the Polytechnic University of Milan. In 2011, he founded the Lean Club at LIUC, and a year later, he assumed the role of Associate Professor. Since 2016, he has been the director of i-FAB, the lean and Industry 4.0 model factory at LIUC, and since 2019, he holds the position of Full Professor. He has authored more than 50 articles published in SCOPUS-indexed journals and has participated in/directed numerous applied research projects for leading national and international companies.
