Biographical Notes
My research investigates how psychological threats, such as social exclusion, loneliness, and mortality salience, shape individual consumption preferences and choices. In this context, I explore how exposure to specific types of brand communications can buffer against the behavioral effects of these threats. A second stream of my work focuses on how various forms of restriction—including financial, physical, and dietary constraints—affect self-control, risk-taking, and consumer decision-making.
My research has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Advertising, Psychology & Marketing, British Journal of Social Psychology, and Annals of Tourism Research. I am the recipient of the Park Best Paper Award in Journal of Consumer Psychology and currently serve as Area Editor at Psychology & Marketing.
I hold a PhD in Business Administration and Management (with a major in Marketing and a minor in Organization) from Bocconi University, where I also earned an MSc in Marketing Management and a BSc in Business Administration and Management.
