Sustainability and Circular Economy, a specialisation that makes a difference

Sustainability and Circular Economy, a specialisation that makes a difference

The specialisation in Sustainability and Circular Economy within the Master’s Degree in Management Engineering is a valuable opportunity for prestigious career opportunities.

The course, taught in English and designed to provide knowledge, skills, and methods on how to implement sustainability and circular economy principles, a goal now essential for companies facing the ecological transition and complying with European regulations.

Companies must therefore be able to rely on management engineers who are capable to introducing sustainability principles and circular strategies, supported by engineering tools, as well as tackling resource scarcity, process redesign, and the servitisation of products within business organisations.

Graduates will be equipped to take on roles such as Sustainability Manager, Circular Economy Manager, Process and Product Designer, or act as consultants supporting business strategy and operations.

This is an excellent specialisation, highly sought after in the market and crucial to the ongoing process towards more circular economies, where materials and resources never become waste – instead, they are kept in circulation through maintenance, reuse, reconditioning, and redesign – while nature regenerates.

The course is led by Professor Andrea Urbinati, a lecturer in Sustainability and Circular Economy at LIUC University, whose name appears for the second consecutive year on Stanford University’s prestigious list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists in the Business & Management field. In his teaching, research, and consultancy work, Andrea Urbinati addresses the topics of #sustainability, #circulareconomy, and #circularbusinessmodels, increasingly recognised by the scientific community as a managerial issue, not just an environmental one. “We must continue to support our companies, and beyond, in the complex journey towards greater sustainability and circular economy, in which they are already engaged,” the lecturer comments.
