LIUC places great value on being rooted in the local area and collaborating with stakeholders and works continuously to strengthen and develop its system of relations and collaborations and to expand its reference community.
Currently the Academic Community:
- has set up collaborations with numerous local intermediaries operating in the field of Third Mission and Technology Transfer (C-LAB),
- is a member of numerous Associations that preside over the design and delivery of IFTS/ITS pathways,
- has consolidated a system of relations with local high schools,
- is a member of the National Library Network,
- has built partnerships and synergies with numerous research and training organisations (clusters and associations).
Community also means the involvement of those who have experienced the University first hand: LIUC Alumni is the association that hosts LIUC graduates, with networking, outreach, career guidance.
Through an intense and rich calendar of initiatives, events, meetings open to civil society and dedicated to social, cultural, artistic and environmental issues, the University creates opportunities for growth and inclusion for society at large.
In line with a logic of openness, LIUC also makes its material heritage available to the extended community: the collections of the Rostoni Library are open to external use, the Industrial Cinema Archive is available for studies, research, the University Park has become an open space and an integral part of the city’s green space, some buildings represent fine examples of industrial (the former Cantoni cotton mill) and contemporary architecture (Aldo Rossi’s Courtyard of the Mulberry Trees) and 19th-century Lombard-style buildings (Villa Juker).
