Course taught in English
The ability to analyse and interpret data is crucial for companies, even small and medium-sized ones, that want to remain competitive in a rapidly changing market. Businesses have realised that the study and analysis of data enables them to discover new trends in advance, to control the dynamics of the system of production and distribution of goods and services and to make data-driven decisions.
The course offers participants the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills in the analysis of economic-business problems through the use of big-data processing methodologies.
The specialisation proposes the study of further mathematical-statistical models and their application in Marketing and Finance, in order to enhance strategic decision-making skills using information that can be extracted from large data collections and applying the main quantitative models.. The ability to analyse and interpret data will be honed through the use of computer tools and statistical learning, while addressing case studies and business experiences of data-driven decision-making.

The teaching methods emphasise the application, also using specific software, of the skills acquired in the course and the development of problem-solving skills. The presentation of statistical/mathematical models and tools is aimed at developing an understanding of the tool’s potential and possible criticalities. The language of instruction is English. The course is part of the University’s active exchange programme offer. By accepting incoming students the course acquires an important international connotation and offers the possibility of a fruitful confrontation with students with a different educational background and complementary skills to those of the B.A.M. Pathway students. The possibility of spending a study period abroad completes the international character that inspires the entire training course.
The course consists of four modules:
