The Pier Giorgio Frassati pastoral centre is there to provide religious assistance to students and university staff who ask for it. This service is available to students of all religions who would like to engage in any form of dialogue. A priest is present in the Centre to offer spiritual support and provide the cultural, theological and moral perspectives that assist with the development of the ethical profile of the professions for which the university provides preparation.
Pier Giorgio Frassati, the patron of the pastoral centre, born in Turin on 6 April 1901, was a university engineering student and a young man of deep faith and extraordinary charity. He lived a life of intense social and political commitment. He died on 4 July 1925 (only a few months away from graduation) after suffering from acute poliomyelitis. He was formally beatified on 20 May 1990 by Pope John Paul II.
