Green Logistics Survey

Environmental sustainability has seen a strong growth in interest in recent years, to the point where it has become a fundamental strategic lever and source of competitiveness for companies adopting “green” choices. More and more businesses are aiming to improve their logistics processes in favour of sustainability. On this topic, the Green Transition Hub, in collaboration with the LOGISTICA magazine, aims to analyse the current technological and organizational solutions adopted in the areas of transportation, packaging, warehouses, and supply chain.

Topic

Environmental sustainability has experienced significant growth in interest in recent years. Today, adopting “green” choices represents a fundamental strategic lever for competitiveness for companies. Indeed, more and more businesses aim to improve their logistics processes in favour of sustainability. On this topic, the Green Transition Hub, in collaboration with the magazine LOGISTICA, aims to analyse the current technological and organizational solutions adopted in the areas of packaging, transportation, warehouses, and supply chain through the GREEN LOGISTICS SURVEY research.

Objectives

The GREEN LOGISTICS SURVEY aims to analyse the level of adoption and dissemination of logistics sustainability solutions by companies in achieving the goals of the 2030 Agenda and the European Green Deal. Specifically, with reference to the four areas of logistics – Packaging and Load Units, Warehousing and Intra-logistics, Transportation and Distribution, Supply Chain and Organization – the research aims to provide an in-depth analysis of:

  • The level of corporate commitment by evaluating the dedication and results pursued in achieving sustainable objectives.
  • The level of internal and external pressures companies face in adopting green solutions.
  • The level of adoption of sustainability solutions.
  • The level of measurement of sustainability performance.

Furthermore, the GREEN LOGISTICS SURVEY also aims to collect evidence from the industrial community, which will contribute to the permanent catalogue of best practices in sustainable logistics developed within the GREEN LOGISTICS RADAR project.

Results

The results of the GREEN LOGISTICS SURVEY were published in the October 2022 issue of the Logistica magazine (download the dossier: [link]) and presented during the conference “How Green is Your Logistics?” on October 5, 2022, as part of the Green Logistics Expo in Padua.
