Green Logistics Radar

Topic

The topic of environmental sustainability is becoming increasingly important within the business strategy of companies, and it is climbing the agenda of entrepreneurs and managers.

In a global context where the importance of sustainability is progressively increasing, logistics must also bring innovation at its core, searching solutions with a lower environmental impact that, in many cases, can also generate opportunities for better operational efficiency.

This is why the Green Transition Hub is committed to supporting companies that wish to introduce sustainable practices in their logistics and supply chain management processes.

Objectives

  • To develop the Green Logistics Radar, a repository of the best technological and organizational solutions for Green Logistics and Supply Chain Management, successfully implemented by both Italian and international companies.
  • The Green Logistics Radar has been conceived as an open and continuously updated platform, not only responding to current needs but also anticipating future trends in sustainable logistics, designed for those who are looking for practical solutions, whose effectiveness has been proven.
  • The Green Logistics Radar aims to become a reference point for the logistics sector, endorsed by the most important Associations and supported by a technical-scientific Advisory Board to guarantee the relevance of the solutions selected and published on the open web platform.

Three good reasons to participate:

1) Because by submitting your solution to us, you are personally contributing to the creation of a sustainable future and to the diffusion of a green logistics culture.

2) Because you will become part of our repository of “best in class” solutions at national and international level, selected by the Advisory Board of the Green Transition Hub.

3) Because the solutions featured in the Green Logistics Radar will gain visibility through communication and dissemination events such as conferences, workshops, articles in Logistica News Magazine and on social networks.

The solutions selected by our Advisory Board will be included in the online platform (under development) that will be presented during the upcoming Green Logistics Expo in Padova.

  • ON-LINE by filling out a simple form, asking you to describe your solution, how and with whom you implemented it, and the main benefits obtained.
  • ON-AIR by booking a video call with Green Transition Hub researchers who will collect your solution, turning it into a case history.

Your solution will be reviewed by our advisory board. If necessary, we will get in touch with you to better understand your solution with the aim of turning it into a ‘case history’ which, if mutually approval, will be published in the Green Logistics Radar.

Following publication, you can always make changes to the submitted solution or provide additional, updated information that will be made public following review and approval of the renewed content.

Please have a look at some examples of approved solutions:

If you are asking yourself what criteria your solution must fulfil to be approved by our Advisory Board and to be included in our repository of Green Logistics solutions, it must:

  • have a clear and explicit relevance to aspects related to logistics activities and in particular to one of the following fields:
    • Secondary and tertiary packaging and loading units
    • Warehouses and intra-logistics solutions
    • Transport and distribution of goods
  • refer to a practical initiative that has already been implemented and is not in the testing phase.
  • report objective elements that make it possible to evaluate the benefits obtained from an environmental point of view, such as the reduction of emissions compared to what was done in the past or compared to an alternative solution.
  • have no commercial purpose. In this sense, solutions proposed directly by suppliers are welcome, as long as they are accompanied by a “case history” in which the name of the client company adopting the solution is explicitly mentioned.

By submitting the solution application form, the company:

  • declares to guarantee, indemnify, and relieve LIUC University from any and all responsibility concerning and resulting from any discrepancies and/or inaccuracies and/or false information or misleading information, which could, by anyone, be found in the published company cases.
  • authorises LIUC University to publish the information (sheet) related to Green Logistics solution the submitted and approved by the company, which includes data and contents, communicated and made public by your company and possibly elaborated by the University for their dissemination through the Green Logistics Radar platform.

1) Where will my solution be published?
Submitted solutions will be transformed into “summary sheets”, belonging to solution categories, which will be published within the Green Logistics Radar web platform, which can be browsed for free upon registration.

2) What information is required to submit your solution?
By accessing the form at the following link, it will be possible to provide the information that will be included in the summary sheet of the proposed solution. The information voluntarily provided by those who submit the solution covers the following aspects: a description of the solution (what you have done, how and with whom), the benefits obtained, the motivations for introducing the solution, and if available for those who wish, it is possible to send supporting documents and links to multimedia elements.

3) How much does it cost to have my solution published?
The initiative is for free as it is funded by LIUC University, with the support of SCS Consulting, with the aim of disseminating best practices.

4) Can more than one solution be submitted?
Yes, there is no maximum limit to the number of solutions to be submitted. For each solution, you will need to fill in the application form to provide the necessary information.

5) Once the application form is filled in, what happens?
The solution will be reviewed by our Advisory Board and, if considered coherent with the objectives of the Green Radar, it will be turned into a ‘summary sheet’ by our researchers before publication. Following mutual approval of the contents, the solution will be published on the Green Logistics Radar website as a best practice within a ‘category’ of solutions (e.g. Biofuels).

6) Is there a deadline for submitting a solution?
There is no deadline, you can submit your solution at any time as the Green Logistics Radar is constantly being updated.

7) If my solution is already published, can I update it?
Yes, following publication, it is always possible to make changes and provide additional information to the submitted solution.

8) Is it necessary to sign an agreement for publication?
Publication clearance is required, which is done by signing a release form, once the contents of the sheet have been approved.

9) Do I risk anything by submitting my own solution?
Absolutely not: applications are on a voluntary basis, as is the information provided. In addition to this, in order not to lose control of the information provided, clearance for publication is required once the contents have been approved by the parties involved (see FAQ 8).

10) Is the Green Logistics Radar website for free to be browsed?
Yes, it is possible to browse the website free of charge, upon registration, and is open to all those interested in the world of green logistics.
